Warning
Interesting discovery for golf clubs and Associations.
Check your public liability insurance
Recently at a golf course in Australia' I have been warned by an investigating officer that the public liability that all clubs hold may not hold up to support a public liability claim?
Most of us are aware that the precedent has been set that a golfer hitting another golfer that is on his own fairway and is within reach of that golfers shot will now be found liable for the damage to said recipient of ball lol. And rightly so, any idiot and let me tell you there are a lot of them out there, that is impatient or stupid enough to hit up on the group in front and hit the poor recipient of said golf ball ( insurance and police talk ) is now liable for said damage to said recipient ( I should work for an insurance company ).
Well now I've been informed that the clubs liability insurance may now not cover the golfer if he hits a golfer on another fairway? OMG
Well what does the clubs public liability cover? Not much really, maybe the window on the house next to the golf course, maybe the pet dog hit by the crappy golfer at the house next to the golf course?
I was also informed that maybe we should check our home contents insurance because it seems to be the way the underwriters are going? This goes on doesn't it. Well I was asked by the investigator whether I had home contents insurance because my son hit a ball that hit someone on another fairway. OMG lol MR investigator where the hell are you going with this? I'm a little slow which is why I helped him so much not realizing I was being shafted in the process.
Well he said that if the insurance company decided not to pay, you maybe a target for the claiment ( is that a word, I did watch Erin Brocovich?)
Be aware that this is a possible precedent, These guys really suck big time. We're happy to take your money but we'll never pay, ha ha, sounds like something off Austin Powers, i.e Doctor Evil.
I would all advise, nay? check your public liabilty policy to see whether low life public liabilty companies will now not pay a golfer on your golf course on another fairway.
Inform me and lets attack these pathetic companies together. As always I look forward to your comments

It's always very interesting playing in other junior opens and seeing the good and bad things about how they run their events. Just yesterday we had about 16 juniors male female and 9 hole level. I walked around with a couple of our 9 holers. Now although I think it's great that kids are run through the rules and manners on the golf course I think some fail to realize what kids actually like to do and that's hit the ball into the hole. Although maximum shots are good sometimes I think the majority of the time to child is on the green when they've reached their maximum, well let them putt out it's part of the overall fun. Also from what I've seen is that the rule aspect should be employed after the kid starts playing and not be the major aspect in learning golf. You might find that your kids stay longer and enjoy the game more.
If you're going to run an event then I think you need to ask kids what they would like to play for and let me tell you I get the run down after every event from the kids. There should always be a seperate girls and boys event regardless of numbers. What a way to attract more girls than if you only have 3 girls for example and all the girls win prizes they're going to tell their friends and you may find you start to get more girls.
I have a personal example with my own son shooting his best ever score in a 9 hole event when he was younger and didn't win a prize, he was very disappointed.
Let me tell you what I do for my kids and also try to do(cost willing) for other kids in our program. If for example they are the outright scr or nett girl and the event doesn't have a seperate girls event I reward them personally for their efforts as they should have been. It doesn't matter if you reward them they still feel like they have won the title. How do you feel when your child shoots his or her best score and doesn't win a prize? Also it's going to look your childs CV of Tournament wins when they are being correctly rewarded. You may want to look at Madeleine's CV and there is about 4 times I've rewarded her for the best overall score which she actually had but didn't get rewarded for. She is at me already saying dad how many events did you win in your career? I think I have more already. I might have to even it out again as I'm getting my game ready for the seniors tour in four years from now. I'm not yet ready to give into my kids.
In summary
Reward your kids if the clubs dont do it, but only reward them for achievements you'll see thier confidence boom.
Hey guys welcome to the 2nd edition of the Blurb 3/4/2011I'm very happy to let you all know that I'm now the NSR Scout for the ACT Monaro District.
since I started this golf program my goal has been to help 30 kids to a US scholarship from the ACT Monaro District. Well I had the opportunity to be a scout for NSR, National Scout Report. I will be finding out more informtion on how to help kids that are interested in US scholarships. The best time to start to be invloved is the beginning of year 9. The reason for this is that the US have 16 core subjects to be completed before you can be accepted for a scholarship and this is ideally started in year 9.
Now since this has been a goal of mine since the program has started it only made sense that I take on this role.
We're now looking at a number of our kids at the right handicap level at a very young age and for girls this is 6 h/c. What this means is that they will be able to get a fully paid scholarship, that is a Degree for free using golf as the medium.
This is more about letting people know that there is other ways for your child to get a degree than the ones we historically know about.
I start kids in my instructional program from 5-6 years of age this way it's a no brainer to get them to scholarship level, in fact I'm having to think of ways to slow down their progress so they dont peak to early. I've found it easier currently to build the girls to this level and we have probably the biggest girls development program that I know of anywhere in the world. As the kids say it's all "G".
Hey guys welcome to the 1st edition of the Blurb 16/3/2011
The Blurb is about giving you information about what you need to get your child from a 6 year old to US scholarship potential.
What's in it for your children;
Well I'm pretty sure you haven't heard but there is so much out there that the powers to be for some self interest reason dont want you to hear. Golf is a fantastic opportunity for your kids to not only persue a career but also just to have a sport that will last for life.
The Blurb is about promoting to the parents/clubs and associations that are willing to do what it takes for their kids. Golf is a fantasitic opportunity for your kids to have;
1. A future in tournament golf
2. A Scholarship in the US fully paid to the right person/ golf/education
3. A future in club professional golf.
4. Golf promotion
5. Golf management
6. It will suprise you to know that golfs impact on the US economy in 2005 was $76 Billion, more than the Movie and recording industries combined.
Well what you need to know is how to get your kids to this level while still allowing them to be kids.
The powers to be will make you think that you need to play in a confusing array of events but when they change the rules to suit themselves and choose kids that have been banned from their own home clubs for bad behaviour, well no wonder your confused.
this Blurb will be about what you need to do and what you need to know. After all isn't that the questions we want answered?
